Data Selection

You can interactively pick out the data you would like with the Data Viewer.

You can reduce the amount of data by restricting the range of the grids.

The current settings for the grids are grid: /T (julian_day) ordered (2352 21 Apr 1996 - 0007 22 Apr 1996) to (2352 20 May 1996 - 0007 21 May 1996) by 0.01100152 N= 2637 pts :grid If this is what you want, choose

Hints

• longitude is best specified as west to east, two east values or two west values, otherwise you can end up with the wrong half of the world (e.g. 0.5E to 355.5E will work much better than 0.5E to 0.5W).
• order matters: reversing values will reverse the grid.
• when specifying time, some seasonal patterns work, i.e. Jan-Mar will select Jan-Mar of all years in the dataset, and Jan 1980-1990 will select Jan 1980, Jan 1981 through Jan 1990 (if those years exist in the dataset).
• a blank entry will get you back to the full grid.

More General Data Selection

Otherwise, you select data by picking a grid and specifying which values of that grid you want. You can specify a RANGE, or single or multiple VALUES.

If you want all of the data along a particular grid, you do not need to do any selecting: only select a grid that you want to reduce the amount of data along.

P.S.: the Data Viewer lets one select data with a graphical interface. It works even for datasets with three or more dimensions.
