Accessing data using your copy of matlab

OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://iridl.ldeo.columbia.edu/SOURCES/.CDIAC/.USHCN/.daily/STNID/24645/VALUE/.comp3/dods')
