Two different datasets are used in this section: NOAA NCEP EMC CMB GLOBAL Reyn_SmithOIv1 and NOAA NCDC
DAILY GLOBALSOD. The Reyn_Smith dataset is a gridded dataset while the GLOBALSOD is a daily station dataset.
