URL Interface
The data server is designed to make the dataset appear as a directory
in a virtual file space. Subdirectories of that directory contain
subsets of the data and calculations on the data. Files within the
directory contain different renderings of the data, i.e. tables,
plots, and datafiles in various formats.
Having a clean URL interface is important because the server can then
be a resource for other WWW documents: it can furnish figures,
tables, background information, even tools to manipulate the data.
