Data Source:  NCEP, Environmental Monitoring Center, Climate Modeling Branch

Description:   An animation over the past year of the equatorial Pacific thermocline (120E-75W, averaged over 5N-5S) from the surface to a depth of 400 m. The green line is along the 20 deg. C isotherm. Red shading indicates water temperatures above 28 deg. C..  NCEP is an acronym for the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction.
