Climatological Base Period: 1980-present
Data Source:  NCEP, Environmental Monitoring Center, Climate Modeling Branch

Description:   Change in ocean potential temperature anomaly, averaged from 5°S to 5°N, from the previous month in the Equatorial Pacific Ocean. Contours drawn at 0.5°C intervals with shading starting at +/- 0.5°C. Thick black line is the climatological position of the 20°C isotherm.   NCEP is an acronym for the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction.
