Description:   Longitude-depth plot of monthly ocean potential temperature anomaly, averaged from 5°S to 5°N along the equatorial Pacific thermocline. Contours drawn at 0.5°C intervals with shading starting at +/- 0.5°C. Thick black line is the climatological position of the 20°C isotherm.   NCEP is an acronym for the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction.
