Description:
The plot indicates the vector anomaly in the monthly wind field at 250 (top), 500 (middle), and 925 hPa (bottom).   Shading and contours indicate the speed (in m/s) of the anomalous wind vector.  Contour interval for anomalies is 3 m/s with shading starting at 3 m/s.  NCEP is an acronym for the National Centers for Environmental Prediction, US.
