Description: The surface air temperature anomalies shown are based on station observations over land and satellite data over oceans. Contours drawn at +/- 1 deg. C intervals. "CAMS" is an acronym for the "Climate Anomaly Monitoring System" in use at the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) at the US National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP)
