For more robust results, use the "high temporal coverage" option when possible, "intermediate coverage" only when necessary.
Area-averaging increases signal while reducing noise. Selecting a single gridpoint may seem more precise, but results will often be less reliable.
Compare area-averaged results using nested regions of different sizes. If there is little change, higher confidence can be assigned to the smaller regions.
