Monthly CAMS Station Precipitation Anomaly

This map shows monthly station precipitation anomalies for the globe, with respect to the 1981-2010 climatological base period.

Monthly precipitation anomalies are given in units of mm/month based upon precipitation values from the CAMS station dataset. The period used for computing the climatology is 1981-2010. Green dots on the map indicate where station precipitation was above the long-term normal for the month, and brown dots on the map indicate where precipitation was below normal.

These data are from the NOAA Climate Prediction Center's CAMS station data set. "CAMS" is an acronym for the "Climate Anomaly Monitoring System" in use at the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) at the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP).
