Data: Monthly maximum USGS dekadal NDVIg data gridded to 0.1° x 0.1° lat/lon resolution
Base Period for Climatology:  1982-2004
Data Source:  NASA/USGS ADDS

Description:
The map on this page shows the monthly climatology of USGS NDVIg data using a base period of 1982-2004. Use the "Time" control above the map to see the climatology for other months of the year. To produce these maps, the maximum of the three dekadal NDVIg values per month are calculated at each point, then the long-term (1982-2004) average is calculated for each month. In the final step, the long-term average NDVIg values, originally in the Albers Equal Area Conic projection, are gridded onto a regular (geographic projection) 0.1° x 0.1° lat./lon. grid.
