CLIMAP dataset

BRIEF

This dataset contains February and August SST's for the Last Glacial Maximum (18ka) and the Modern ocean. Paleo- sea surface temperature for this dataset is calculated using principal component analysis. This method involves quantifying the relationship between species abundances and sea surface temperature.

The CLIMAP dataset is available from the World Data Center for Paleoclimatology in Boulder, Colorado at ftp.ngdc.noaa.gov
