Monthly Surface Air Temperature Anomaly

This map shows CAMS monthly gridded surface air temperature anomalies for the globe.

Monthly surface air temperature anomalies are shown in units of °C. Yellow to orange colors indicate temperatures above the 1991-2020 climatological average, and shades of blue indicate below-normal temperatures for the month. Contours are drawn at intervals of +/- 1°C. Grey areas on the map indicate regions with missing data for the month.

"CAMS" is an acronym for the "Climate Anomaly Monitoring System" in use at the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) at the U.S. National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP).
